I can make the case more easily as I see my students thrive in this platform. I have added a Moodle section [which I guess we are calling 'blended'] to my regular high school class. In the initial chat introducing the class to students, kids who rarely speak, who rarely speak with each other, who drag themselves through my 90 minutes some days, in fifteen minutes had 19 pages of chat with each other. Sure some of it was not necessarily literate by 20th Century standards, but by 21st Century tools it was an example of burgeoning literacy in process.
I can make the case for myself as well. I am stretching my brain to add to my technological vocabulary daily. Rss, wiki, voki, and the list goes on. I feel this not only places me in the important space of learner, frustrated at times but working it through, but brings me closer to being able to meet students in spaces that they are excited to travel. Via these passports I can through a dance and seduction bring them worlds that I really don't think they would have access to through basals or the best of curricular planning. I am new at this, but a convert.
Thank you for sharing about these exciting developments with your students. It is a credit to you that you have immersed yourself in this new learning landscape. We are lucky to have you working with us!
